•Magic: Zatanna is a homo magic which is a human born with the affinity to manipulate magic. She can use the magic she was born with or learned magic.

•Telekinesis: Zatanna can move or obtain objects at a distance with her magic.

•Telepathy: Zatanna can also read people's minds and even erase memories without people's consent.

•Reality alteration: Zatanna can alternate reality at will causing confusion and much trauma on her enemies.

•Deflection: Zatanna is capable with this power to return energy projections that have been sent to her back to their source without loosing angle power or momentum.

•Expert in hand to hand combat: Zatanna is extremely skilled in hand to hand combat thanks to her training with the Justice League and from her father who told her to rely on wits and fists should magic fail.

•Mnemonic Incantation: Zatanna casts her spells by saying the words of her incantations backwards. For the spells to work Zatanna must be able to speak or read backwards to maintain her focus.

•Vulnerability to magic: Powerful enchantments against beings of magic are able to restrict her as well preventing her from accessing enchanting places or to dispel the adverse charm.

Personality:

Zatanna gives an impression to all that meet her. She is a showman and it shows in everything she does and in everything she wears. She is flirtatious sometimes giving the impression of thinking too much. She also possesses an emotional fragility. She can be defensive and has very strong issues regarding her father. Confidence can be rented and true strength comes and goes for her. She does not take life too seriously which is a defence mechanism for her. Zatanna is also a little shy when it comes to making full commitment to anything or anyone. Zatanna is emphatically one of the good guys although at times she will let the ends justify the needs putting friendships on the line and jeopardising alliance at the same time. Zatanna also has an appreciation for the finer things in life. She is capable of moving in the highest circles in society and can blend in with ease.

History:

Zatanna Zatara is the daughter of the magician Giovanni Zatara and the homo magi Sindella. Zatanna was raised by her father in a small house in New York that was very close to the Arkham Asylum. Zatanna believed that her mother died after her birth but she soon learnt that her mother had faked her own death so she could return to her people. Zatanna became a successful stage illusionist before she discovered her true magical powers whilst she was investigating the disappearance of her father. With the help of others Zatanna eventually located her father on the island of Kharma where she was finally reunited with her father but he was forced to stay away from her due to an evil spell put on him by the sorceress Allura. Zatanna then continued her stage career for a while before meeting up with more heroes such as Supergirl and Green Arrow completing many quests alongside them.

Shortly after this Zatanna would befriend and hire a man called Jeff Sloane who would join her on many adventures and at one point when meeting with Jeff, Zatanna is possessed by the sorceress Allura and together Zatanna and Jeff would have to overcome many obstacles together through different worlds before returning to earth and defeating Allura for good. For a while after Zatanna continued her stage career and assisted those in need with her powers. Zatanna would go on to assist the Justice League of America on several cases and missions before she was elected as a full member of the League and her first case with them was discovering what happened to her mother and found out that she had been abducted by her own tribe and upon finding her her mother sacrificed herself to save Zatanna. With the League Zatanna would have a new combat outfit and costume that was blue in colour instead of red. She would also play a part in the defeat of the Society of supervillains.

Appearance:

Zatanna appears as a woman of average height and of a slim and quite athletic build. She has black hair that is at shoulder length and she also has blue eyes. Zatanna appears regularly wearing a red or black costume with fish net tights to go with it. She also has a top hat which she sometimes uses for magic tricks and she also has a magical wand which she is seen with regularly. Zatanna usually wears red for her shows and this appearance hanged however when she joined the Justice League of America as she soon wore a blue combat outfit still with hat and wand.

Roleplay Sample:

Zatanna was finishing one of her shows and she soon decides to go in search of her mother. Zatanna learns about what happened to her mother and she tracks her down to find her abducted by her own people. Zatanna travelled to the location with her friends and upon seeing her mother she spoke "Mother what happened to you i thought you were dead why do you leave me?" she asked her mother and before Zatanna got her answer her mother committed suicide to protect Zatanna. A little shocked Zatanna returned with her team back to their head quarters where she looked back on what had just happened.

"I cannot understand why mother would do that just leave me and father but i am sure she had good reason." Zatanna said to herself. Zatanna continued her training with the men of the Justice league of America practising combat and her magic in order to help more people down the line. Zatanna decided to change her costume to blue in order to remember her mother. "From now on i shall wear this blue as part of the Justice League and help battle enemies alongside them" she said to herself.
